At 6:09 a.m. on December 7, 1941 183 Japanese planes, composed of torpedo bombers, dive-bombers, level bombers and fighters attacked the American Navy at Pearl Harbour, Hawaii. 2,403 people were killed that morning and 21 ships were sunk. The following day the United States declared war on Japan and on December 11th, after Germany declared war on America, the Americans entered World War II.
Watching this video of the peaceful harbour it is hard to imagine the noise and chaos that ensued on the morning of December 7th, 1941.
