The Temple of Kom Ombo, Egypt

With so much else to see visitors to Egypt often overlook the marvellous Temple of Kom Ombo. Of course if you are going to Egypt you will not want to miss the Giza Pyramids or Abu Simbel but you also shouldn't miss this unusual double temple to Sobek and Haroeris.

The temple was started by Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC) at the beginning of his reign and added to by other Ptolemys, most notably Ptolemy XIII (47-44 BC), who built the inner and outer hypostyle halls.
