The Umaid Bhawan Palace was one of the last of the Royal Palaces to be built in India and was not completed until 1944. Whilst not as famous as the Taj Mahal (strictly a mausoleum rather than a palace) it is certainly as glamorous as Jaipur's Palace of Wind's.
The building's beauty partly comes from eshewing mortar and cement to bind its stones together. Instead it uses carved stones joined together in interlocking positive and negative pieces.
